Abstract: XXI century demonstrates the trend of disproof the priority of national sovereignty to supranational players and local areas. The article is an effort to find out the specifics of the interaction of two modern political processes - the globalization and dynamics of national identity in its own conditions, in order to identify the role of cities in the context of further development of the global political system. Among the branding strategies are the "global cities", "monocities", "cities for the comfortable life", "the unique areas". The article is about the fact that the territory's development and their political representation in national processes influence objective factors. And there are the products of human relationships. The latest significant role played by the city and agglomeration effect.
